Welcome to Zillertal
Mayrhofen - Hippach
From Hippach to Mayrhofen you are, so to speak, in the heart of the Zillertal. From small villages to the secret metropolis of Mayrhofen, everyone will find something suitable for the perfect summer or winter holiday. Peace and quiet in nature or action on the mountain and in the valley - the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region meets all requirements.
WINTER IS GOING ON IN MAYRHOFEN Mayrhofen starts the 202/22 winter season in a varied way. With 142 kilometers of slopes and 60 lifts, the famous ski area in the Zillertal will make the hearts of winter sports fans beat faster this season as well. NERVE TITLE & PURE PLEASURE It only takes a few minutes from the lively center of Mayrhofen to the coolest winter sports challenge: the famous "Harakiri" awaits you on the mountain - with a 78 percent gradient, the absolute maximum of thrills. Those who conquer the descent can decorate themselves with the Harakiri T-shirt. Another highlight on the Penken is the PenkenPark, which is one of the best snow parks in Europe. Less action, but all the more sensual pleasure, is what MountAhorn offers - accessible with Austria's largest gondola, the Ahornbahn. At the top, the plateau awaits you with a fantastic panorama, WinterHikingPath, slopes for the whole family and the FunRide for all ages and levels of ability. If you didn’t bring your skis or snowboard or need a little break from the all the action on the slopes, try some toboggan fun with our PistenBock. On a specially designed course separated off from the other pistes you’ll adjust your helmet, hang on tight, and tackle the turns. Practice makes perfect - you’re definitely going to want to repeat this experience!
With its picturesque side valleys, in the midst of unspoilt nature in the Zillertal Alps high mountain nature park, Mayrhofen has become a mountain and rock dream for all hikers and bikers. Numerous hiking routes, day and multi-day tours, 800 km of cycle paths and 21 bike tours can keep summiteers of all skill levels moving for a whole mountain summer. The interactive map at www.mayrhofen.at provides information on all routes and refreshment stops. But Mayrhofen also has many mountain experiences to offer for those who enjoy the summit and families. Aside from classic hiking and biking, there is also a great offer for all bouldering and climbing fans. But there is also a lot else to do in the region: from tennis and squash to mini-golf, paragliding, hunting and fishing, swimming, riding and kayaking ... the opportunities to be active in Mayrhofen-Hippach are enormous. You should definitely try the high ropes course at the Zemmschlucht - 34 exercises of various degrees of difficulty have to be mastered - and all of this 88 meters above the Zemmschlucht! The Mayrhofner Bergbahnen (Ahorn- and Penkenbahn) bring you comfortably up the mountain in summer too. Regardless of whether you float in Austria's largest gondola in the direction of Mount Ahorn or take the 3S Penkenbahn cable car to Mount Penken, there is a great summer offer on both peaks that is second to none. With a sunrise breakfast, LeisureTrail Ahorn, Eagle'sStage Ahorn, Lake AhornSee and AhornBachl Stream, great sun terraces and cozy resting places, the Ahorn offers numerous gourmet highlights. Mount Ahorn is also the starting point for wonderful hiking and hut tours. The Penken is the mountain for action lovers - whether paragliding, climbing, biking or exploring the mountain with MountainScooters - the Penken lives up to its reputation as an action mountain.
Mount Penken and Mount Ahorn are the ideal hotspots for adrenaline junkies of all ages and levels of ability. With the first turns you are still brave and let the boards run. But then one becomes more cautious: No wonder, because the Harakiri deserves respect. With a gradient of up to 78 percent, it is something for absolute experts. For most, it's the highlight of the day, if not the entire winter vacation.
BORED ON HOLIDAY? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ARE YOU SERIOUS WHEN YOU SAY THAT!
Those who spend their winter holidays in Mayrhofen can choose from 142 kilometers of slopes and 60 lifts on Mount Ahorn and Mount Penken. The latter lives up to its name. In addition to the Harakiri, the PenkenPark also shows where to go. It is one of the best snow parks in Europe and offers an extremely good selection with six different areas: everyone will find the perfect shapes and obstacles here. SAFETY FIRST! Speeding on the slopes, it doesn't have to be. Especially not at Penken, because there are special areas for all speed junkies. A total of three free racetracks are specially prepared for this at the RacingParadise Unterberg. There is also a free speed track on the Gerent. Away from the slopes, the PistenBock toboggan run offers fun and adventure for young and old. Tobogganing is now more than just an alternative to skiing, it is much more an unforgettable experience of happiness for the whole family.
